Pro Bono Work

David’s commitment to justice extends far beyond the courtroom—it’s rooted in a deep belief that empowering the next generation creates lasting positive change. This philosophy drives his dedicated involvement in both legal education and his local community.

As a Mentor for postgraduate students on the Queen Mary University Human Rights LLM programme, David finds genuine fulfilment in guiding aspiring human rights lawyers as they take their first professional steps. Drawing upon over 25 years of practice, he shares not just legal knowledge, but the practical wisdom and strategic insight that can only come from years of frontline advocacy. For David, mentoring represents an opportunity to shape the future of human rights practice whilst ensuring that the values of access to justice and compassionate advocacy are passed forward to emerging practitioners.

David also serves as a Governor at St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Tunbridge Wells, a role that reflects his passion for education at its most foundational level. Working collaboratively with fellow governors and school leadership, he contributes to strategic decisions that shape young lives during their formative years. Whether reviewing educational standards, supporting school improvement initiatives, or ensuring every child receives the best possible start, David brings the same dedication and attention to detail that defines his legal practice.

These voluntary commitments reflect David’s belief that dedicating time, expertise, and attention to the development of others generates positive influences that reach well beyond individual cases or courtroom successes.
